Program accomplishments...
An award was made during fiscal year 2003 to an international organization to conduct joint conferences, to develop teaching materials and jointly conduct courses in TB epidemiology in developing countries and to conduct demonstration projects of TB control programs in countries of strategic interest to the United States. In addition, an award was made during fiscal year 2003 to an organization to facilitate the organization of TB Controllers to advance TB elimination through improved communication, focused efforts, coordinated action, and expanded collaboration to address emerging issues and ongoing obstacles to elimination. An award was also made during fiscal year 2003 to fund the collaboration of partners to develop, establish and coordinate systems and procedures to increase the involvement of governments and other entities in the World Stop TB activities. In fiscal year 2003, three awards were made. It is estimated that three awards will be made in fiscal year 2004 and three awards in fiscal year 2005.
